Who We Are
MAREA ROSA is an Ecuadorian company founded on a transformative vision: to connect the excellence of Ecuador’s aquaculture industry with social commitment, gender equity, and sustainability.
We believe in a different way of doing business, where the quality of our products goes hand in hand with the responsibility to make a positive impact on people, communities, and the environment.
Through the marketing of Ecuadorian shrimp, we foster strategic partnerships that strengthen a responsible value chain, promoting inclusion, women’s empowerment, and equal opportunities.
Our commitment goes beyond business. We aspire to contribute to a more humane, equitable, and sustainable industry, where business growth also translates into collective well-being and social development.
At MAREA ROSA, we believe that the true value of a business is measured not only by what it brings to market, but also by the positive change it is capable of creating.
Marea Rosa Quality with Purpose, Equity with Commitment, and Impact That Transforms.
2025 | Women Driving the Transformation of the Blue Economy
MAREA ROSA participated in the 2025 cohort of Women in Ocean Food, an initiative led by Hatch Blue and Conservation International Ventures that aims to strengthen women-led ventures in the ocean-based food sector.
This participation represented an opportunity to strengthen our business vision by bringing together innovation, women’s leadership, equity, and sustainability.
Milestones of Impact A legacy of production, environmental regeneration, and commitment to future generations.
1957 | The Origins of Our Production Site
Our story is connected to a production site whose origins date back to 1957, marking the beginning of a journey rooted in productive activities and the natural environment of Ecuador’s coastal ecosystem.
2014 | A New Chapter: Conservation and Regeneration
In 2014, we acquired the property and began a new chapter, integrating a commitment to environmental protection, restoration, and conservation into our production vision.
Since then, we have promoted the protection of 126.63 hectares of natural surroundings on the property, alongside a reforestation and regeneration process covering 18.52 hectares previously used for shrimp farming infrastructure.
As part of this effort, we have introduced more than 100,000 mangrove plants, contributing to ecosystem recovery and strengthening biodiversity.
This commitment reflects our conviction that aquaculture and environmental conservation can coexist responsibly and sustainably.
“We don’t merely cultivate exceptional shrimp; we are defining a new standard of coastal sovereignty led by women.”
Today | Quality with Purpose and Social Impact
At MAREA ROSA, we are transforming our production and environmental experience into a commercial offering built on a commitment to quality, gender equity, community development, and sustainability.
We believe that true business growth is achieved when the creation of economic value also contributes to people’s well-being and the protection of our natural heritage.
